What we can help with

Self Assessment tax returns

For the self-employed, landlords, directors and anyone else who needs to file. We work out what you owe, check the reliefs you're entitled to, and file the return for you.

Year-end accounts for limited companies

Statutory accounts prepared and filed with Companies House, and your company's corporation tax return filed with HMRC.

Bookkeeping

Keeping your records up to date through the year, so year-end is straightforward and you can see how your business is doing.

VAT returns

Help registering for VAT, choosing the right scheme, and filing returns under Making Tax Digital.

Payroll

Running payroll for small businesses, including payslips and reporting to HMRC.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax now applies to sole traders and landlords above HMRC's income threshold, and the threshold is set to come down in future years. We can help you get set up with suitable software and keep your quarterly updates on track.

Common questions

Do I need to file a Self Assessment tax return?

You usually need to if you're self-employed, get rental income, have untaxed income, or HMRC has asked you to. If you're not sure, send an enquiry and we'll let you know.

Can you help if I've missed a deadline?

Yes. The sooner late returns are dealt with, the better. We'll help you get up to date.

Do I have to be based in Devon?

No. We're based in Axminster and work with plenty of clients in the South West, but most of our work is done by phone and email, so we can help wherever you are in the UK.

What software do you work with?

We'll recommend software that suits your business, especially if you need to keep digital records under Making Tax Digital.
